Seniors Neighbourhood Hub Club Program
The Saskatoon Council on Aging (SCOA) offers a program called the Seniors Neighbourhood Hub Club. This pilot program is for older adults looking to combat isolation, expand knowledge of resources available to older adults, enable participation in recreational activities, and to create social networks. Those who attend receive a free educational presentations, blood pressure checks by retired nurses, an “Ask A Pharmacist” station, refreshments and a time for socialization.
Currently this program is being offered at the Lawson Civic Centre on the third Thursday of the month from 1:30pm – 4:00pm from September to June. Programs have been already set up for September –December 2015. Program details include:
September 17, 2015: Gluten-Free Nutrition
October 15, 2015: Client/Patient Access Services (CPAS) Information Session
November 19, 2015: Travel Safety/Travel Presentation
December 17, 2015: Holiday Social/Refreshments
Future Program dates for 2016 are: January 21, February 18, March 17, April 21, May 19 and June 16.
