Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on:
Thurs, March 14th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. (5:00 – 6:00 unscheduled time, 6:00 – 8:00 scheduled time) Fri, March 15th from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. (1:00 – 1:30 unscheduled time, 1:30 – 3:00 scheduled time).
Online scheduling for interviews begins at NOON on Thurs, March 7th.
Principal’s honor and Principal’s high honor lists have now been posted in the commons.
The Girls Choir and Junior Concert Band members will be travelling to Edmonton March 12-14th. They will be performing at a school, attending a workshop, and spending an evening at the Jubilations dinner theatre. Thanks to all those who have helped with fundraising for this trip.
Badminton tryouts have been scheduled throughout this past week. Football training for Fall is now underway.
Application forms for Summer School Drivers Ed are now available on-line. Student services will provide the website address. All applications are due by Friday, March 15.
Several students participated in the We Day initiative. It has been an exciting experience for all involved!
The MMGCI Open House was held Feb. 14 and was a great success! Several families joined the school tours and gym program to learn more about what the collegiate has to offer.
The next SCC meeting will be held on Monday, Apr 22nd in the library. All are welcome to attend.

The boys & girls basketball teams played in their final tournament at Marion Graham Thursday. We are extremely proud of them. Go Lightning! Thank-you Coach Gulutzan, Coach Gudmundson and Coach Sparks!
Auditions for “Treasure Island” have started. Our performances will be April 25th. Please consider coming to watch.
Starting Tuesday afternoon our grade 5-8 students will be learning to curl at the Granite Curling Club. We really enjoyed having “Rocks and Rings” come to SHS and teach all of our K-grade 8 students the basics. More great “InMotion” events.
18 of our students from grades 5-8 were also fortunate enough to attend “We Day.” Their level of enthusiasm upon their return was infectious. We look forward to working with them to select meaningful projects to impact change locally and globally.
Our SCC & Parent Council meet on Tuesday, March 12th. At the suggestion of members at a fall meeting, and in an effort to increase accountability, the Silverwood Heights Parent Council has been working to create a constitution to guide it’s activities. We have completed a draft document that will be up for final revisions and voted on at the next meeting.
Progress Reports are distributed on Friday, March 15th. Conferences are the following Wednesday and Thursday, March 20th & 21st from 4:00-8:00. Spring programming will continue to happen, we believe we can work together.
Our Landscaping Committee continues to raise funds to begin the construction of our outdoor classroom. Yesterday we started a spring roll fundraiser (gluten-free are available). I can take order or you can drop them off at our office. Deadline for ordering is March 15th. Pick-up is March 20th & 21st from 4:00-8:00 The next fundraiser to watch for is through Prairie Meats with guaranteed delivery prior to the May long weekend.

Teacher appreciation week was capped off with a catered lunch for all teachers. Parent volunteers also helped with recess supervision to give teachers a much deserved break.
CARNAVAL D’HIVER – occurred March 1st with many exciting games and activities for the kids.

Progress reports will be sent home with students on Monday, March 18. 3-Way Conferences will be held after school on Thursday, March 21 and all day on Friday, March 22.
St. Angela School - Cheryl Feader
Staff Appreciation week--February 11th to 15th. We honored the staff of St. Angela School each day by brining in treats for them each morning, with the final day by bringing in lunch for the staff. On behalf of the parents, it was the Council's way to say thank you for all that they do for our children.
BJM Parent information night was Tuesday February 26th.
On Wednesday February 27th, 30 students from St. Angela attended We Day at Credit Union Centre. We Day is about empowering youth to make a social change. The Grade 8 leadership team as well as a few others attended the event. It was truly an inspirational day motivating students to make a change!
Ski Trip is planned for Tuesday March 5th. Grades 5 to 8 will be heading to Wapiti for the day.
3 Way Conferences are coming up and will be held on March 14th & 15th.
Good Friday is March 29th and then the kids will be off for the Easter break the following week.
Council has reviewed the anti-bullying policy and made some changes and updated the policy.
Brownell School - Coreen Morrison-Fritz
Progress reports will be sent home on March 15th. Interviews with parents / teachers will be on March 18th & March 21st.
Kindergarten registration has begun for the 2013/14 school year. We will be holding a 'sneak peek' in June for families to see what a typical day will be like for the students.
Basketball had their year end tournament on February 28th at Marion Graham Collegiate.
