WJL Harvey Park Update - June 2011
The City of Saskatoon graciously provided the SHCA with the following information during a WJL Harvey Park walkthrough today before our monthly community meeting. The information we gathered is summarized below:
- The paths are OPEN for use! Please run, walk, bike and use them!
- The new asphalts paths are 2.5m wide and wider than previous paths
- Approximately 60% - 70% of the grass has been seeded and expected to be completed within the next few weeks
- Grass is expected to begin growing this year
- Irrigation is almost complete
- Lighting is well underway and will be completed before winter
- There will be a total of 64 lights along the asphalt park pathways every 30feet
- The posts for the softball diamonds are in however softball fields will not be ready for use this year (due to grass not being ready)
- There will be no skateboard park
- There will be a total of 10 benches in the new park
- All vegetation has gone in
- There are 2 crusher dust paths on the North end of the park that are not asphalt, but are wheelchair accessible
- It will be another 2-3 weeks before grading is complete
